is the ig "fad" starting to run down?(some questions)

I have, every summer for the last few years gone to Alamogordo NM, and gone to the fair. The first time, I saw ig as prizes, however thesaes last few I have not. Also, I have seen mall shops not stop selling igs, but cut cut down on the amount they have. It also seems that most poeple at mys chool have a rudimentry knwledge of them(thier size, and that they are pissy, but a lot still think they are carnivours). I guess my question is, has it gone on long enough that thye public is startingf to catch on? Clearly, it is not over yet, but is it getting any better?
