Spiny-tail iguana possibly eggbound!

I have a small female spiny-tail iguana that looks like she may be eggbound! She's gained considerable size "girth" around the abdomen in the last month or two, but lost alot of weight around the base of the tail! I've begun to force feed her. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get her to pass these eggs? Do I need the eggs to removed surgically?
