best thing i've found is to not let it change what you're doing at the moment ... i mean .. if it tailwhips you DO NOT put her down right away as that will re-enforce the behavior .... your ig will calm down when s/he learns that you do NOT plan to eat it!!!!
and YES being tail-whipped by a 4 1/2 foot ig HURTS EVEN THRU HEAVY JEANS and LEAVES HUGE WELTS !!!!!!
