I just smeared him with some neosporin, and he seems to be taking it well... I watched him for a while to make sure he didn't try to lick it off. He also has one of those broken crooked toes... I hate that, it looks so painful. :( I really don't know what species they are... the picture is of the big guy that keeps hurting himself! The other one is smaller and darker and has large brown bands.
I took them from a friend who couldn't keep them anymore, and they were about a year old when I got them, and had been together since they were babies, so I just kept them together. Besides head bobbing and occassional nips at feeding time they seem to get along fine.
They're really picky about what they eat... bananas are they only fruit I've been able to get them to eat, and they only get one every month or so. They love the greens but get tired of them, and they really love the canned food... they both charge me and try to eat the food right out of the can when I step in there with it, so I don't mind a little bit of extra $ if it's going to make them that happy!
Since I'm on injuries and the like... how long does mouth rot usually take to go away? This time it's the smaller one (Gwen)... she developed it about a week ago and I've been putting the rid rot stuff from the pet store on the area three times a day since I noticed it. It looks a lot better, but I was just wondering how long before it goes away completely.
Thanks for your help everyone!
