Antibiotic cream dabbed on is perfect; most folks prefer Neo-sporin. Also, if you wait until they are asleep or almost asleep to dr. a boo boo the chances are better that the medicine will stay on longer ;O)
For future reference.....betadine is great for all kinds of things with these reptiles. If you had found him when his toe was STILL bleeding, you could have dipped his foot in a solution of this to stop the bleeding. (Note: sometimes bleeding can also be stopped by dabbing on flour) I CANNOT remember right now if the betadine should be diluted to "tea color" or used full-strength for this. Perhaps someone else knows and will tell us *grin* I know you dilute for soaking purposes...which is something you might want to do for a couple of days to help heal up that ouchie.
BTW Betadine is the "official" name and can be pricey...the generic brand of it is just as good and not as expensive. It is not a bad thing to have around the house because it works well on us humans, too!
Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!
