Thanks for the advice - I am going to give it a try!

We always come armed with treats when we take him out and he seems to love it. I spend about 3 hours a day with each of the rescues here - quality bonding time. Jubs is responding very nicely to the love and affection that he is getting.

Since we got him we have only had one episode with him where he lunged at my husband. Since then, nothing. We never give in to their displays and let them know that no matter what they do, we are still going to love them. It stressed Jubs out initally - he was used to people backing down. But he is doing exceptionally well.

As a side note, he was apparently even worse when his previous owners took him outside so it is something we are going to have to watch when the snow is gone!

We will only release him to a home where they have previous experience with male iguanas.

Thanks again!

: you know it's funny...
: usually reptiles become more aggressive when outside under natural sunlight, and stay calmer under artificial UV inside.
: you got quiet a nasty rebel!
: temporary isolation is good, but you can later make him associate certain people with good things.
: you know Vicks vapor for sore throats and coughs?
: (comes in a gel-lotion)
: put a small amount on yourself and in the cage.
: he'll smell it all the time, and when he'll smell you, he'll associate you as a neutral presence.

: when offering treats especially, "wear the prefume". he'll associate the smell with something pleasant.
: when he'll be newly adopted by someone, advise to the new owners to do the same for the first few weeks.

: it works like a charm with varanids, and hopefully with the ig too.

: good luck finding him a home!
