Good morning! err um evening! Iz Mom...yeah figures that this is going on the weekend! :-(
Remind me to talk to IZ about his timing!
Will look up what Mader has to say at work tonight. But I think this is normal for IZ especially since he recently got opened up! Cal oxalate (if this is the type of stone it is) absrobed in hindgut. The excess calcium oxalate is dumped into urine then excreted. May be one of those struvite stones Ive read about...from bacterial infections and take on a "staghorn appearance" when passed. The stones can be seen by Xray...perhaps your vet want to do some. I wouldn't ^ cal. supplement at all until you talk to your vet. IZ may need medication to dissolve the stones if there are others. Keep up the good work...hydration, diet etc. My guess is this is normal...and temporary....keeping fingers crossed just because of his recent surgery. Will repost what I find out from Maders first thing in the am......Oh and have you gotten any response at all from Melissa at IML??? She's the igs pert!! Plus she went thru this very same thing with Wally but different..cuz IZ is gonna make it right!!....I put the link to her story about Wally below...lots of similarioties between your two igs! Will post back as soon as I can.
Gina
