Hi, everyone.
I am getting a baby iguana in the next few months(friend leaving town, giving him up)
I am gonna start now getting things together. I want to build a 6ft tall by 5ft by 5ft
cage out of plywood. I was thinking of the front being wire mesh and windows in the side
wire mesh, the top would be removable with UV light installed and basking. I would make a
top of wire mesh also, so I could put it outside in the summer, maybe, depending on weight?
What are some recommendations? should I put in wire mesh windows or not, maybe plexi-glass?
I want to get my own tree branches, is there any tree's iguanas are allergic to? Anything recommended or
I shouldn't use? I was going to use reptile carpet as substrate? Do I need to have a hide box?
What can I do for shelves for a basking area? How many would I need? What does the humidity need to be!
I have studied a lot, I know the heat requirements. Would love to see some pics of homemade cages?
Any links? Point me to some good websites on iguana salads I can make and feed? I saw one, can't remember
that told you how to make a complete salad and how to store it for a week in the fridge? Very informative.
Want this to be a healthy iguana. I will not get him for about 3-4 months, but want to go ahead and get everything
ready! Thanks for any info and links! The more the better!
