We have a male, Harry, that's in his 5th month of season. He's definitely a handful. Very dangerous right now. One bite from a large male iguana in season, will send you to the emergency room getting stitches. Do not trust a male iguana in season. Signs of season, can be but not limited to:
1. Legs and parts of body turning orange
2. may not eat as much
3. aggressive actions towards human males and sometimes females.
4. signs of a pinkish white "stuff" on the iguanas basking branch or other places in it's cage.
5. body posture that takes on a defensive mode: puffed body, leaning to one side, tail whips, mouth open, circling, and of course......the look like no one is home...in the eyes!! (harry)
As iZ mom has said, take this seriously.....one quick move from a male iguana and you will regret not doing so. Their bites are extremely dangerous.
