I've gotta a sort of crazy idea for you on this. If you pour a bit of hydrogen peroxide on fecal material and it reacted, would this be a *reliable* test of whether or not it had blood in it? I'm not sure if it would react just because of the fact that it is fecal material. You might try to get in touch with Tricia (who has Napoleon). They've been using some sort of "dipstick" to check blood in his stools. As soon as I can lay my hands on her e-mail address, I'll get it posted up to you in case you don't have it.
