We were just prescribed twice daily Calcium Snadoz oral injections (1ml) for one of our rescued iguanas, who fell in his enclosure and injured his leg (no broken bones though). He is also getting 2 vitamin D injections - one this week, and another one next week - to jump-start his system.
He is in the early stages of MBD and we have been actively treating it since we got him one month ago - ie with proper diet (he was fed lettuce and pellets), proper supplementation and UV lighting.
Anyways, has anyone else been giving their iguana(s) this Calcium Sandoz? Any idea as to how long we should continue this treatment - the vet was not overly clear on this one, despite our proding (needless to say, that vet is now off our list)!
Any thoughts/suggestions are definitely appreciated! Thanks!
P.S. Iggy, the iguana that fell, is doing extremely well and is even using his back leg once in a while!
