Iguanamomma....Looking up Amphojel (aluminum hydroxide) in the PDR (physicians desk reference) at work last noc. Nothing Zip...Medical dictionary says gel form antacid..about it...but in my nutrition book says aluminum hydroxide accelerates calcium loss, and I remember running across sites about aluminum hydroxide and why it should NOT be used for kidney patients but I cannot find anything using my peice of$*#%%*$()* search engine w/AOL. The subject of aluminum hydroxide was on various "calcium" related sites, but what I have bookmarked nothing..Zip Can ya help me out here? Oh my nutrition book does say...Tums is a phosphate binder containing calcium with no adverse effect used to counter excess acidity in the stomach (humanz). In my diet manual...says Amphojel NOT to be used in conjunction with tube feeding...but doesn't have reasons. IOW....HELPPPPP!!!!!
Thanks...
Gina
