looking for info on long-term use of antibiotics (BabyHerp!?!?)

quick history ... iZ had surgery Nov.15 + is recovering well from that ... but he also has some pretty serious kidney disease going on ... has been on injections of Baytril (IM in upper arm) 1cc daily pretty much since then ... 10 days the 1st time, then went off for 3 days and showed signs of infection returning/toxins increasing again so we put him back on Baytril for another 2 wks (which we're in the middle of now) ...

on top of all THAT crap the poor little guy's gong thru, he also got a nasty BURN at the hospital when he was there ~ that is also healing well (putting silvadene on it) but am thinking that with all that he has going on right now, i would think that he needs to stay on antibiotics for longer than just another week ...

yes, i'm gonna talk to his doc again on monday, but am asking for any input from any ig-experts you may have access to ... Mader, Frye, et al ...
