nah...I wouldn't that's some expensive bedding and not all that healthy for him/her frequently used long term especially if your using alfalfa sprouts because of protein, saponin and phosphorus content. What IS a good & safe substrate is things like paper towels,regular old towels, newspaper (unprinted rolls the best),although not very aesthetic and sterile potting soil that has NO vermiculite in it work well.
