IZ's MOM....remember parenteral means IV...Here's a link to Tricia Powers article on Dehydration...she has a table on offering fluids by mouth! RE-hydration needs to be done over a 24 hour period! based on weight of IZ. Hope this helps...also I'd let him hang out in the water as much as he wants...making sure its warm...or mist him super duper...as possible that water/moisture/ increased humidity penetrates the skin as well as possibly absorbed via cloaca even tho I have never read any subtantial text proving it....wishin much luck and here's a little quick math lesson...1000 grams=1kilogram=2.2pounds
..hopefully the vet gave you his correct weight but if IZ is lets say 6 lbs...he would require about 120 grams of fluid over a 24 hour period to re-hydrate him. That breaks down to roughly 3 3/4
ounces over a 24 hour period. If the foods he's eating have any water content in them then you could subtract that amount.Im giving you the low end amounts based on an ig about 6 lbs....less is more in this case Water Intoxication is just as deadly as de-hydration. Good thoughts going your way
