yes! that pretty much describes it~! it's the weirdest looking thing!!! the edges of the scales have come loose, but the center is still VERY stuck ~ tried a couple times to give it a gentle tug, usually when the edges are that loose, i can just flip the rest off with my finger nail ~ nope! not these! + the way he reacts tells me it HURTS so i quit 'testing' them ~ he IS good about letting me rub oil on them tho ~

thanx for the 'life-span' times of salmonella! that's what i needed to know and couldn't find! i'm the new grandma of a toddler AND have a grandbaby due in May!!! the only thing i was concerned about was salmonella being transferred via my shirt ~ that's the closest the little ones will get to iZ OR his 'belongings' ~ so now i will be changing clothes AND scrubbing down with soap, after iZ, before Sara! *grin* ~ have seen some very sick kids with salmonella where i work ~ (none ever from reptiles tho! yes, i ask!)

oh ~ re: antibiotics + salmonella ~ believe the antibiotics are more for the gastroenteritis symtoms/issues than the actual salmonella ~ ??? (am i understanding this right???)

well, he has most definitely perked up ALOT this past week, either way ... now he just needs to gain the lost weight back! his appetite's not back to normal yet, but that sounds like a time of year thing ....

thank you SO much for looking this stuff up for me!! i GOTTA invest in Mader + Hatfield's books! i feel like such a bad parent for not havin' 'em!
