: Did you see my post to you (& anyone interested in it)re those orange urates with Melissa's reply that I had saved off from the past? Just asking because I know you've had your hands full with Nap's latest escapade!

Yes I did see that, thanks. Yes I knew that parasites can sometimes cause the urates to be orangish or even pinkish in colour. Remember near the end of August I first posted on the IML about Nap passing slightly pinkish urates? He did that three days in a row. Then it stopped for about two weeks and he had normal urates. Then all of a sudden he had really orange, very small, very thick grainy urates. He had also started to eat very poorly at that time. So off to the vet we went and found out his blood work is absolutely superb (thanks MK salad and hopefully proper care!), but that he has one of the worst parasites a reptile can get. :(

Nap just did his third dose of flaygl last Saturday. He's not eating well again and his stool is still loose. We know have an antibiotic tylosin to give him that is supposed to help with the loose stool and I think it's working .... but could be better. I think Napoleon is just really sensitive to medications, they make him feel very off. Also, probably in the beginning of the treatment the parasites also contributed to his lack of eating etc. I'm just thankful that I took his bad looking urates as a sign to get him to a doc ASAP. Considering he has an Entamoba spcs parasite infection - probably E. invadens, it was a good thing I got him there so quickly. A little longer and I'd hate to think of how ill he might have gotten or that I might even have lost him. :( Yes that's how bad E. invadens is. :(

Thanks for your support! :)
