Water Dragons are from Asia and Australia, not South America. They do look a lot like iguanas, but they are actually in the Agama family of lizards, and unlike iguanas, they need a fair amount of animal protein, in the form of insects, usually, in their diets, whereas igs(at least the adults) are almost strictly vegetarians. I have never seen one develope the impressive dewlap or dorsal spines of an adult ig, though.
