: Hello everyone.
: I have read a lot about iguana care before i adopted a beutifull juvie female Ig. When i picked her up at her previous owners house she was great she was falling asleap on my arms and just very pleasent. Well i got home, put her in her 5'long, 3' deep. and 7'tall cage, the previous owner had her in a 90gal tank. She seems to be ajusting well to her new home, she is eating, drinking, climbing around ect.. but when ever i reach for her she tries to whip me and will gape her mouth. I don;t understand how she could have reverted like that. i just need advice about how to introduce myself to her so she won't flip out.
: I am willing to put in the time for this animal, i know it can take time.
: Thanks for any advice you may give.
: Justin

Hi Justin,

The Green Garoot was stark, raving mad when my daughter brought him home, mainly from abuse, ill diet to the point of malnourishment, etc. Now he's totaly cool. As he has no cage, he's also potty trained.

Takes time and attention, and I guess a fair amount of dedication. After a week of G.G., my wrists looked like cheap hamburger.

Handle him, talk to him (I also talk to my pet Cottenmouth, who has no ears) and most important, get him on a set schedual. He will respond like clockwork as will most any reptile.

The folks on this forum have helped me a great deal, as I knew zip about Iguanas before having one laid on me.

So, I sez thanks again, and....

Luck,

filthy

PS from G. Garoot: Don' lissen to dis dummy! Ya want's ta give yer guy all he...... Git yer han' offn me, ya big.....
