New ig owner needs help.

Hello everyone.
I have read a lot about iguana care before i adopted a beutifull juvie female Ig. When i picked her up at her previous owners house she was great she was falling asleap on my arms and just very pleasent. Well i got home, put her in her 5'long, 3' deep. and 7'tall cage, the previous owner had her in a 90gal tank. She seems to be ajusting well to her new home, she is eating, drinking, climbing around ect.. but when ever i reach for her she tries to whip me and will gape her mouth. I don;t understand how she could have reverted like that. i just need advice about how to introduce myself to her so she won't flip out.
I am willing to put in the time for this animal, i know it can take time.
