Hi,
I am a new Iguana owner, as of last saturday. My Iguana is about 6 inches long not including the tail. I was told it is three months old by the pet store. The pet store I bought it from knew nothing about Igs, ( or any of the other herps it had ), so I am getting tired of asking them questions. I am kinda just taking things by eye and ear with my new Iguana. My question is this...

I want to pick it up, but if I even so much as put my hand in the terrarium, the Ig goes into a speed frenzy. I dont want to stress it into illness, so I have yet to catch it. ( OK, I'm a little afraid of the tail whip, too. LOL ) So, how can I get the Ig to calm down enough to pick it up, or should I pick it up at all? I was told I need to handle it every day, but I cant seem to force myself because it just doesnt seem to want to be held, or even touched in the cage for that matter. What do I do?
