It has been our experience that females are more laid back than males. This is generally speaking.
Our male iguana is in the attack mode right now, but I love him just as much as when he wasn't. We made the commintment to keep all of our animals until the day they die, or we do, which ever comes first! LOL Like Gina had mentioned earlier, if you do not think you will be able to care for your iguana, start looking for a good home NOW. Do not wait until you've had enough. Your iguana deserves better. I'm not trying to be hard on you, but you really need to be dedicated to these wonderful animals to care and maintain them properly.
We have 3 dogs. 2 out of the 3 would just as soon eat the iguanas than look at them. The BIG dog couldn't care less about the iguanas. Never ever trust your dogs alone with the iguanas. Our 3 cats are actually a little afraid of the iguanas.
Good luck with your decision.
