: : >>>>>The problem is it is terrified of my Rott pup and when approached it hisses, whips his tail and begins to foam at the mouth( it looks like blood)<<<<<<<

: : the pup or the ig?? j/k I know Rotts don't have tails ;-)

: : Is this foam coming out of the corners of its mouth? >> Yes the foam comes out of the corners of his mouth.
: Could it be left over food? >> That was my first thought but when it happened for the second time I hadn't even fed Zeus yet.
: ed/orange that may have caused the foam to have that 'red' appearance(does "it" have a name by the way?)>> Would do is late evening or early am (ig down times ..less active) ....gently but firmly pull down on the dewlap open his mouth and have a look ...see if there is any injury to the cracks/corners of his mouth, inside his mouth along the gumline etc.

: : The presence of the pup is a definate threat to your ig. Many igs have met their demise mistaken for chew bones or toys. You must find a way to keep them separated, or only together for short periods of time SUPERVISED. The stress from a potential predator is enough to throw your ig off feed, hurt himself trying to escape or defend himself. Your ig knows what scares/threatens him... even if you don't.
