Be careful of newspaper too! Consistent exposure to the dyes and chemicals in newspaper (ie: lying on it alot) is not good for them either. Not to mention getting the print all over them. I too used to use newspaper and grew tired of looking at a dirty iggy all the time. I guess if yours basks off of the ground alot then I wouldn't think it would be too bad but I could be wrong...and I mean about any of this. Its just something I read somewhere and can't remember where. Better safe than sorry in my eyes.
