Tell me more about hibiscus

I appreciated the hibiscus advice from Isis's Servant, but would also like to hear from more of you regarding your knowledge of the nutritional difference between the "hardy" types of hibiscus and the "tropical". I certainly wouldn't want to feed something to my igs that might harm them, and since they come from tropical areas, I'm just not sure that the hardy types will be as good for them as what is found in their natural habitat. (Am I being too rigid or what?) :)
I'm looking to hear from more of you who regularly feed your igs hibiscus. Do you feed the leaves too? Or just the flowers?
