Stay away from wire except maybe at the very top for venthilation (my last cage had this but my current cage is all glass, melamine, and plastic vents) It is harder to keep the cage warm with the wire. I live in FL too but use cold AC at night. And you ensure a nicer faced iguana if you stay away from all wire (they can really rip up their noses and mouths). The only wire cage I use is an outdoor one and I only put my non-spastic lizards in there who like to quietly sun for only a couple hours at a time. (they even need a fan in the summer or they overheat).
