do you have anything for MOntana to climb on?? maybe a little tree branch??? (disinfect with bleach water, rinse + let it air out for a day or 2 before putting it in with him) ...
don't be discouraged if Montana gets a bit jumpy when he starts feelin' better! sometimes, what seems like quiet acceptance turns out to be extreme weakness + fear instead ... just to warn you that it's a possibility, not to burst your bubble or anything ok? i think it's still an excellent start to the entire bonding process ... but understand that igs instinctively know that they are considered a "snack" by just about everything and it can take alot of effort on the human's part to earn the ig's trust ...
one thing with igs ~ you need ALOT of patience ~ with ALOT of different things ... Montana's been thru some traumatic stuff lately and it's gonna take longer than just a few days for him to totally 'turn around' ... igs heal slow cuz they're cold-blooded and so it may take a while for the healthy environment + food to make a noticeable difference ... that doesn't mean he's not healing as we 'speak', just that it doesn't always *show* as fast as we wish it would ...
get one of those 'aquarium thermometers' to put in his enclosure ~ they're like 99 cents ~ and make sure to monitor the enclosoure's temp ... with a cold-blooded animal, especially a stressed baby, keeping him at the right temperature is one of the most important things you can do ...
sounds like you're on the right track tho!
and worrying endlessly definitely seems to be a requirement of sharing your life with an ig! *grin*
keep up the good work! give him a little head rub from me + iZ ....
Bon. + iZ
