Just to clarify about the vet, I did not realize about the mouth breathing until later in the evening after the vet's had closed. I was offered what I thought was the next available appointment on Monday but I have no way of knowing if they can see me in information sooner. I have two other vets I can check with that are equally as soon as far as being reptile vets. This particular one, however, happens to LOVE iguanas and so I go with him first.

Cuddles has been in this condition for A LONG TIME so even though she is about 4' long, and big (not bloated) I do not think that she is critical, just very, very (chronically) ill. I do not think she is impacted because she is not bloated at all.

And you are right about them holding their breath. Tonight, Ziggy is sleeping in his bath, tail and all with just the very tip of his nostrils out. I thought he had drowned himself (ya know, jealous of the new ig and everything) so when I tapped on the glass, he opened his eye little more than a slit and looked at me. Mr. Personality this guy. He tried to tail whip me through the glass just because I brought in a new ig!

I will call the vets tomorrow and try to get an appointment for tomorrow.

I tend to worry over everything with my animals!!
: i think a vet that won't immediately see an animal who has breathing problems, needs to find another profession ... what a jerk! find another vet!

: the laying at the bottom of the tub looks scarier than it probably is ... igs can hold their breath for like 2 minutes and Cuddles ~prob'ly~ would not have drowned ... iZ has done that to me tho, and it scares ya bad!!!

: i'd worry about the mouth breathing tho ... + this may sound dumb BUT ~ is she bloated up from needing to poop???? warm baths til she can pooop might help that ... sure wouldn't hurt ... (been there with iZ ... long story)

: i'd say NO to the heat rock cuz they scare me + why risk it? ... if you're worried she's not warm enough i'd use a human heating pad set on "low" for her to sleep on ... since they're for humans, they're alot safer than heat rocks ...

: and i'd say no to leaving the light on for her ... she'll rest better if it's dark and sounds like she needs some good rest ...
