This occurred to me on the way home LOL LOL Luckily, I knew the person who was taking care of ALL of our pets was a very bright person anyway and she HAD thought of it herself! Luckily, again, the idea wasn't needed this time because the forum was down!
Next time anyone leaves their reps with a sitter.....leave this URL for them so if there is a problem or a question they can come in and catch someone here to help them :o) OR you could leave them some e mail addresses of folks who agree (in advance) to help out in the event of a question/emergency. E mail might be the quicker solution.
Tell you why I thought of this.....We left Fri 7/30 and were concerned not about the reptiles but about how our neurotic dog was going to behave (some of you know his story). By Tues 8/3 when we had not heard from Gwen we thought "hey, it must be going well." Then on Wed. I find out that both my father-in-law and my brother-in-law had tried to call our condo from their condos and kept getting a recording saying the line was disconnected. We had been making phone calls out. So Ben, my hubby, called the phone people and found out that our condo owners had the phone set up for outgoing calls only...which makes NO SENSE to me :o( AND there is a 50 cent charge for every call out that the realty people add on the credit card charge when they do the inventory for damage, etc. I'm still trying to reach the realty person to make sure that NO call made to find out why we weren't getting calls and the calls made to people to give them working numbers ARE NOT charged to my father-in-law's card since all the condos were on his card for the security deposit.
Called my mom collect and gave her in-laws' number to relay to Gwen for me. She would call me back over there if there were problems right then. No call; everything was fine. Whew! But can you just imagine if there'd been problems?!?! I was not happy about the situation...we'd left a crazy dog and an iguana that was still taking meds for her tail amputation.
So my other piece of advice is...next time you go somewhere make sure that people CAN actually reach you :o)
