I work in a pet store ... lol unfortunately. We got 33 Iguanas in thursday or wednesday of this week. 2/3 were supposed to be shipped to our other store yet they werent in too good of condition so we kept them all at our store. When i arrived this morning they had no water whatsoever they also had the same food (a manufactured paste thingy) that they did friday which im sure was the same one as thurs or wed. so i immediately went to work I got some watercress as well as some dandilion greens i cut it up real small and sprayed it with a calcium/miulti vitiamin then i rearanged the tank to suitable condition I removed one dead one. They are only around 3-4 inches svl within an hour all two all the fresh food was gone so i gave them another heaping mound
despite all they have been through they all look pretty good and well rounded. however there was one vary small baby that must have been the "runt" so to speak of the litter he is only about 2.5 - 3 svl and is extremely skinny pretty much skin and bones i have him home now in a ten gallon w/ a 60 watt day cycle something or other bulb the temp feels about right he didnt show much interest in the food i put in there really finely chopped collard greens and some kale so i bought some apricott baby food as well as some karrot/pea baby food he has taken a few licks of the appricott i imagine because its sweet he also has had a few bites of the kale and or collard i am going to get up on the hour every hour to make sure he is alright is there anything else i should do??
PS: I have had four iguanas before I know about UVB and everything else i have done tons of reasearch in my lifetime yet have never dealt with one this young as well as sick
PPS:i dont have a uvb on his tank now its only one of those so called "full spectrum" false advertisement bulb thingy
