Im cruel , pointless and inhumane....and Ive got two igs that get along famously now if not for that neutering....I know its YOUR personal opinion Jaime but to condemn me/anyone because it was /is an alternative you don't condon is not right Ive got ten letters;testimonials if you will of people who had it done by Feo's surgeon prior to deciding if I was gonna go that route and even tho they aren't scientific papers clearly show positive outcomes in respect to neutering due to breeding season aggression in each instance. Im not recommending it for everyones ig don't get me wrong...but it is a viable alternative when all else fails and you have that rare ig that is antisocial in every respect. I got Feo (raised from iglet with his brother)that way after he tried to tear up his brother and then created a serious nostral abrasion from bashing his own reflection in a mirror in the bedroom of his previous owners. In my attempts to socialize him he attacked my female and two other igs on separate occasions....I do NOT buy the "he's an exception to the rule" crap....when I see so many people posting here and elsewhere of how their igs have become Jekyll and Hyde overnight because of breeding season aggression and I certainly do NOT believe the Melissa Kaplan claims to have 16 igs living harmoniously at one time. Any edge over the raging hormones is perfectly acceptable to me even if that includes neutering if not to prevent breeding than to get a handle on his raging hormones. Do you think for one minute that caging them for up to five months at a time is any less cruel when they are used to free roaming? Or better yet I suppose I should of had him euthanized or adopt him out like his previous owners did and pray to God he didn't hurt a child, another iguana,or person. I do not believe in disposable pets...Mine are with me to the death...either mine or theirs....and I'll be damned if anyone is gonna tell me Im cruel for trying to do everything in my power to help them.
