Hours of light

I have Lucy's lights on a timer system. They come on at 7:00 am and go off at 8:00 pm. Around 5 or 6 o'clock every evening she gets out of her basking basket and goes down to a lower shelf in her enclosure. Gets into the corner and goes to sleep. Should I turn the lights off at that time. I have been trying to give her 12 hours of light. Is she just trying to tell me: I am beat, turn out the lights!!!
