OK, Here's what I do....I have been trying to figure this out also, and here is how I get the best results, with the least amount of trouble...
First I get them out & put them in the sink, clean & cut off the big stems, then I just lay them down flat in a wal-mart bag (I'm from Alabama, remember),
sprinkle a little water in the bag, poke holes in the bottom of the bag and pop it into the fridge.
When I get ready to make Cleo's salad, I pick out any rot that I find in the bag, it just seems like it spreads pretty quick.
When all is getting a little icky, I just dump it all out in the sink again, pick out the good stuff, etc, etc.
Turnip greens seem to get nasty first, so I seperate them (sometimes).
The Queen has been eating so much lately, that it doesn't last for 2 weeks around here, anymore.
That's how we do things in the sunroom!
