Summary:> Should I have a soaking pool? Is 8" too deep? Should it be deeper?
I have been wanting to build the floor to my "Ultimate" iguana cage and one feature I have to decide about is having a soaking pool or not and what size if I do have one. Is having a 7 gallon to 15 gallon pool a good idea? I know it would have to be changed when dirted. What I have in mind is building a false floor then cutting a hole out and setting a cement mixing pan in it. That way I could change the water and clean the pool and it would allow easy entre/exit for the iguana and it wouldn't look like a big tub just seating on the floor. Also I figued a big iguana would have to fit into it to soak so I was thinking about a 2'x3'x9" deep tub. I would fill it up 8" is that too deep because i could go more shallow. I don't know how many gallons that is but I know it is more than 14. Should I go deeper than 8"? I hope some of you IGperts can help me out here.
