Howdy Micheal,
Depending on how big around your kid is, you could use a small cat harness. We use a 4 point harness on Lola which has a loop on the top of it for hooking the leash on. The reason we like it so much is the fact that it doesn't put pressure on Lola's throat area. This is why if you look at them...make sure it's a 4 point harness at least. It has to have the strap that connects between the front strap and the back strap underneath your ig and the same goes for the top too. NOTE: there is one problem with this kind of harness.....a few spikes could get damaged. We don't have to worry with Lola hers were damaged before we got her and they have never really grew back good.But we are talking about maybe four spikes at the most and that is only if you put the harness on firm. I think we paid around 6.00 for it.
