Hi there
Regarding igs and pregnancy, I would be careful. Everybody is just zooming in on the salminella problem, but there are also other infections at risk when handling animals. Maybe they don't allways directly effect the pregnant woman in another way than a nonpregnant one, ut a pregnant woman need all the "bodily resources" for the pregnancy and not any unwanted deceases! What I'm trying to say is that we ( the fathers, if present ) HAVE to take our responsibilities and let the mother-to-be off the hook when it comes to these issues ( don't hang me now, guys )!
Also, remember that even the rest of the room is at risk, not just the pooping area, since the animals are moving around with the poop on their feets and bodies. However, the risk is supposed to be VERY low, as far as I've been tought, to get samonella. You are even supposed to almost be able to eat the poop ( salmonella contaminated) directly without too much risk of getting it. The big risk lays in the handling of food and such after touching salmonella where the salmonella can grow and THEN make you ill!
Anyway, I would really recommend not to handle them during the pregnancy ( it's safer that way )
Good luck with the training, lol, and I hope it end in a real victory sometime.
