Yep, I agree with Gina....that antibacterial stuff you should stay away from because of what is in it. I read of someone who used a sponge with a scrubber surface on one side to wipe down the inside of their aquarium....fish belly-ed up on him. Now granted he should have read the FINE print which said it was toxic to fish, etc. but this sponge had been treated with the same stuff as in the hand soap to keep germs from growing on it. I'm not even sure that people should be using this stuff. Been reading things that warn with the widespread use of this product in soaps, sponges, etc. etc. that drs. fear there will be super-resilient strains of bacteria that no antibiotic will kill.

What should you use instead? Don't know! Can't even say that you should use ANY SOAP at all on them. Are you certain that it isn't really their enclosures that have the odor problem and they just "absorb" the smell? If it's in the enclosure, the easiest thing to do is to take it outside, hose it down and leave it in full sun for a couple of hours. The best odor absorber I've found for our dragon is the use of Carefresh as his substrate. It absorbs well and for a long time. I feed in a separate tank, however, to keep ingestion risk at a minimum.

As to some sort of safe soap...GINA...how about that Castille soap they use on infants in hospitals? That's what they had us use on our pre-mature twins. It suds up a lot but it does not dry out the skin at all...leaves it smooth as a newborn baby's bottom LOL Don't know if brand name is same as in Texas. Don't know ingredients either off hand. (Hmmm, I suppose I could look it up maybe?) If you know off the top of your head tho Gina, pass the word.
