Igmomma....re: cuttlefish/cuttlebone

Iguanamomma....thanks for those links...OMG!! the protein content in em...YIKES!...now my guess is that this would be high in the bone as well....(like in oyster shell?)does the bone just naturally have protein too or is the protein from the flesh that gets thrown in during processing? Nothing Ive searched on YET says what the specific protein content of bone is. Then Im thinking this stuff (cuttlebone) might be high in purines as well cuz fish=high purine. So again...are we causing disease processes in our herps like kidney disease? Like I posted my turtles (RES & boxies)munch on cuttlebone. Now Im so confused! Take the cuttlebone and minerall out or leave it? Gonna post over at box turtle & RES forum and see what their thoughts are on it.
