: Well...if worse comes to worse Kermit will get his own room. I can't tolerate this. Piggy is doing fine, the wounds seem to have closed up. I still think she may loose a spike though and that makes me sick! Would I have to separate them permanently or just during mating season, ya think? I'm afraid if I separate them permanently it will be real bad if Kermit sees her. He got ahold me me once trying to get to her just because I took both of them outside together. It was HIS yard...not hers and he sent me to the ER for stitches. He's a mean little monster when he wants to be! But most of the time he is so sweet, so docile and just loves to be pet. I gotta tell ya...I'm getting a little bit afraid of him but I'm sure not gonna let him know about it!

The hardest thing I ever learned about horseback riding was how to make this huge, stuborn, powerful creature think that *I* could dominate him, instead of the other way around!!

Zen on occassion makes me nervous too...even though she's small for her age (4 yrs, near as I can figure) she can be pretty intimidating, especially when she 'poofs ups' and stare fixedly at my fingers as I'm reaching in her cage...

One trick I've found - other than telling myself I'm bigger than her and not to be such a wuss! - is to mist her with a bottle sprayer as I reach in...she loves that so much that she closes her eyes and relaxes completely. I don't think she even realizes she's been picked up until I stop misting.

By the way, I don't really know that she is a "she"...if it turns out she's a male than I'm probably in for as much fun as you're having with Kermit!!
