Hi, all
I just thought that I would issue a little warning to all of you with male iguanas.
Lots of male igs get aggressive when they are in breeding season, as all (or most) of us know. I have never had a problem with either of my males. They have never been agressive in any way towards me during breeding season. But I got an injury (minor) tonight, regardless of that fact.
Try not to laugh too hard, ok? :) Tonight, Bones decided that I was his mate. He was sitting on my lap while we were watching Wheel of Fortune, and I was petting him. I wasn
't even looking at him , and all of a sudden, I felt this enormous pain in my thigh. I look down, and there is Bones, with my skirt and part of my leg in his mouth, and he is writhing around and rolling his hemipenes in and out....you get the picture. Luckily, it was a very gentle 'lovebite' and he didn't get a lot of flesh. I got him to let go and got him calmed down. Luckily before he finished. :)
Anyhow, let this be a warning: Even the nicest male can be dangerous when he is in season. yeah, yeah, laugh it up! Wheeeee!
Best,
Jamie/JBug
