Hey Ziggy's mom
I would say igs are as smart if not smarter than cats. My ig is also potty trained to use a litter box with shred paper that I keep in the bathroom. Some times he does leave me poop gift some where and I think he does it on purpose. I started out training him by put him in the box when I took my shower that way he could get moisture too. Now he use the box by himself and he will even wait by the door if some one is in the bathroom. He is funny because his box has to be clean every time or he will not go in it, he'll go next to it or behinded. He also like to have his privacy or he will not go, he'll just give me a dirty look tell I leave. Yes, Igs can give dirty looks! He knows to wait tell I leave the room to get into things. One time I had a visiting ig over and I let check each other out. Well the visiting ig went right up and layed Angus' basking spot, Angus moved and let him have the spot. I watch them for about 10 min to see if they would get along. I walk out of the room and ask my boyfriend to keep an eye on them. As soon as I was out of sight Angus jumped on the other ig and tryed to bite him. No one got hurt but Angus knew to wait for mom to leave the room before he beat up the new kid. Well any way igs are very smart. You get us all bragging about how smart our babies are and will go on for ever! I'm glad you are their to help give an unwanted ig a good home and if you need any help this is the place to be! ^^^Sam^^^
