Glenda...Makes 2 of us (confused)....Ive scanned over Maders and not much mention about hepatic disease and igs. Looks like something MAJOR is going on with Light...Will the vet do an ultrasound to see if liver disease or? Did he palpate her tummy to see if liver was enlarged? I am real sorry...I can't find anything definitive in Maders in regards to iguanas and liver anything. Maybe Im just not looking real good will continue to go thru it.What did the vet say could be wrong with Light? Can he/she do a consult with another herp vet to decide a course of action. I agree I do NOT believe that the tail amputation has anything to do with these levels being so out of wack...but maybe her tail rot was a symptom or at least easily damaged because of something going on with her inside. Maybe she ate something a penny something toxic paint I don't know...I compared her lab levels with Feo's and Juana's they are extremely higher. Calcium and Glucose,HCT were normal not high according to Mader's and F&Js labs. Some of the others were not too bad off normal high. In the meantime...cut down the protein significantly in her diet...hard on liver to filter.Milk Thistle is great for detoxifying blood and helping the liver. I just don't know!! Post to Varanus...ok..Shannon should be able to help too!Give her the lab values (highs) bili and CPK,EOS,Uric Acid and ALKP or ALT if you got them too. Any idea what the Cholestrol count on her was? I'd post those to Shannon too if you got them. Fatty liver disease? Bile duct obstruction can throw alot of those levels off. Im prolly upsetting you more than helping....Im sorry Igmomma...I'll keep reading and post back if I find something that might help!
Gina
