Legally the lizards belong to the pet store. If PetSmart didn't give permission to take them to the vet and you did it on your own... they get the lizards and you get the bill. At least this is what I have heard. See if your vet can write you a letter stating that the lizards would have died if not for your intervention.

Your best bet is thru negotiation or the media. The two lizards are not worth the bad publicity to PetSmart especially when they would have died anyway.

Of course I personally stand by what I said in the chat room. They pay for the vet bills, then you'll pay for the lizards.
