Hi Mike!
Rock Igs (cyclura) are much more opportunistic feeders
than green iguanas, they will try and test lots of things a green iguana
may never go for. Be very careful to remove little items like coins, paper clips, etc.
An adult Rock Iguana *will* strip a houseplant bare in a matter of minutes.Their feeding strategy in the wild is to strip a whole plant before they
move on to the next one. They also eat a lot more than green iguanas.
You do not have to worry as much about poisonous plants, but *do* take
precautions. Wild Cyclura have been known to commonly eat highly toxic plants, even those that
are lethal to humans, for instance cycads (zamia) and the machineel, and poisonwood.
Another thing you may want to consider for an indoor cyclura - Cyclura, although amazingly intelligent and probably a little smarter than green iguanas, are more difficult
to potty train generally than green igs. However, their poop tends to be more contained (definite shape instead of a somewhat sloppy mess that greens tend to do), and thus easier to clean... probably a result from their body wanting to hold on to more moisture as their native lands
can often suffer severe droughts that a green iguana (needs more humidity) would not survive.
Take care and best of luck!! :-)
