Message: 1 Hi Glenn & fellow ig lovers....I build my Zar's cage....What I did was I went to Walmart & bought one of those entertainment systems for like tv & stereo ya know with doors on the sides & a place for the TV in the middle & I didn't quite follow all the directions in putting it together...I will take a picture of it & post it to the list as soon as I get it developed so you can see it but it has worked out fantastic.....I extended the depth to double the original size by adding those stained looking shelves at Walmart & put in a feeding door along the bottom front....There are cabinents on both sides which I keep all his supplies in & for the front...I bought a big piece of glass for about $12 & held it in place with some neat Wooden corner inserts for a decorative touch....I used the cardboard-like backing for the back & half of it bends from side to side & so I used velcro tape as a closure & I can actually get inside the cage to clean from the back......I put wheels on it & a real neat 2 piece top. The back half of the cover is a large piece of that shelving with huge square cut out where I have added screen material with a staple gun & above that are his basking lights (safe, as he cannot touch the bulbs) The front cover panel lifts back so I can get him out & back in quickly & easily.....

It's great...Oh yea, I put indoor/outdoor carpet down on the inside that matches my kitchen, (where he lives) in the dining room , & wall papered his walls with that Terrarium back sheets that you can buy at Pet Stores for Terrariums, it looks like the desert, or rain forest, etc...>Then on the side walls toward the front, I glued those mirror squares so he can see himself & I can watch him bob his head up & down when he thinks there is another ig in the cage with him....Then, I drove the country roads & found some neat tree branches & mounted them inside the cage so he can bask all the way at the top or snooze down below where it is cooler temp. The only problem is that after it was all done, I realized that I can never move from my house......cause the cage will not go out any door of the house cause it is too wide & deep....Oh well......I'll send pictures soon......
Thanks
