I've did much research on dog health lately since I'm trying to get my 3 Boxers in optimal health for breeding. First off I would like to invite you to join one or both of these lists...Wellpet or K9Nutrition. Both lists are very helpful when it comes to canine health and both spend much of their time discussing natural ways to care for our pets (although I will warn they don't know much about Ig's...I've already tried :)). I have found that feeding your dog garlic is a good way to prevent fleas and have found that fleas are a parasite. Knowing that parasites only infest unhealthy animals it is my opinion (and experience)if the animal is healthy fleas are not a problem. I feed my 3 BARF and do not need to treat for fleas. Now ticks are a different story. I read many ways to help repell them but non of them are 100% except for the chemicals you can buy. I refuse to put chemicals on my dogs so try to avoid tick infested areas as much as possible. I could ramble on for paragraphs about how bad vaccinations, flea and tick sprays/powders, dog foods, etc are bad for our pets and ourselves but should probably save those discussions for the appropriate lists.:)
