Alot of times when they get that thin they do get impacted. you should be able to palpate a small mass a little forward of his pelvic bone on his stomach.
You can soak him in warmed..not hot clean water(no chemicals) to try to get things moving. Alot of them that do lose tail mass as fast as you say do have parasites...usually getting that taken care of will restore their appetite... but be aware that any antibiotics are going to be rough on his system..and it is already affected. just remeber to keep him warm constantly while on the anti-biotics if you decide to treat him. also while soaking alot of thin igs will drink on their own...just watch that he doesnt drink to much.
good luck

: Hi, I'm hoping someone on the forum can help with a problem with my baby iguana; I bought him about 2 weeks ago, and he wasn't eating properly, I left him for a while to see if he would settle
in, however, he hasn't. I noticed that his tail has become very thin, you can see the bones underneath, so I started to force feed him water with a vitamin supplement and some iguana food, to keep him alive. The problem is that I don't think he can go to the toilet, I have been feeding him, but I can't see any recent stools, and the base of his tail is looking worse by the day, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what is wrong, and possibly what to do. Thanks a lot,
: Toby
