Megan...yes the MBD could give him a late start and could possibly have done permanent growth impairment.That's up to your vet to determine. Your iguana continued to develop those "hard spots" because that's the way the body works when its suffering from hypocalcemia...those calcifications attack bones , joints, anything to stop that ig from moving so that its metabolism doesn't continue to rob calcium from its bones...it creates those knobs as a last result in preserving its poor body. MBD..takes a long time to recover from Megan...you are doing good...please do not despair...Lots of calcium rich nutrient dense...good foods for your iguana, a good phosphorus free calcium supplement is imperative...Spring & summer usually mean increase uvb exposure and increased calorie intake...hopefully by next fall you should see some results from all your hard work. Hang in there....
