Congratulations on recieving your ig. If all goes well, you will soon find out what wonderful animals these are! My first reccommendation would be to get it in a larger enclosure. An iguana needs more height than a 55 gal aquarium can give. Also.....no hot rock. Some people might disagree, but I urge you to throw it in the trash. The iguana has absolutely no need for it. Just make sure that the ambient air is heated, perhaps with a combination of a heat lamp and a humidifier, and get him a new uvb bulb. If you can, get it in the sunlight as much as possible. When introducing a new diet for an ig, the sun can help to encourage the if to eat more, and better. Obviously you should take it to the vet to find out about the twisted foot. Sounds like MBD, but it might just be a badly healed break. Only one real way to find out. Also......give it a never ending supply of love and attention. Handle it as much as possible. Iguanas require much more person to animal attention to keep it tame, and loveable. Good luck with it, and let us know what happens.
Also.....is there any chance you can get some pics of it's foot.....we'd love to get a look at that.
