I just adopted my first Iguana yesterday. It is approx. 3yr old and measures 9 in. from mouth to vent, including the tail it is 32 inches. Is this small for a 3yr old? I suspect it is considering it was being kept in a 10 gal aquarium with a hot rock,a 3yr old vita-lite, and being fed only green lettuce!
I moved it to a 55-gal with a ReptiSun light, a 150W ceramic bulb overhead, and a large piece of driftwood to climb on. It actually looks pretty good considering, but it does seem to have trouble suporting it's own weight and it sits with 1 foot twisted upside down. I suspect a calcium difficiency. Hopefully it will accept a more varied diet today. It also seems fairly tame, but this may just be lethargy. I have only kept snakes before so any reccommendations would be appreciated!
